Candidates can select from a variety of majors and minors at the secondary level with the knowledge that the teacher certification programs are accredited by the Michigan Department of Education. Completing the program requirements lead to teacher certification from the State of Michigan, which is transferable to most other states, although some additional requirements may be necessary. The secondary majors/minors provide candidates with the theory, foundational knowledge and the practical clinical experiences needed to become effective educators.
