This program in Elementary Education is designed to address the unique and specific needs of teacher candidates with regard to the content necessary for teaching.

Teacher candidates will take coursework specific to both of the elementary endorsement areas, grades PK-3 and 3-6, including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies, along with courses that will help advance theory, pedagogy, assessment and technology skills in the classroom. A variety of clinical placements throughout the program will help the teacher candidates gain hands-on, practical knowledge and experience. The culminating professional internship will include a full semester Associate Teaching experience with support from both Cooperating Teachers and College Supervisors.

Opportunities to Earn Articulated Credit at Adrian College
Adrian College, in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education Career and Technical Education (CTE) department has created an opportunity for students that have successfully completed a CTE Careers in Education course with a minimum of a (B) grade, to potentially earn up to (6) credit hours, which can be applied towards the Adrian College Teacher Education Department required credits. If you are interested in this opportunity and meet the qualifications noted on the articulation form, please fill out the form with your (CTE) instructor's signature and transcript grade from the (CTE) course.
