Dr. Sarah Hanson is a “hard rock” geologist with research projects focusing on the geochemistry of cinder cone volcanoes in northern Arizona as well as pegmatite mineral deposits across the U.S. She teaches in courses in both geology and environmental science including Geology of National Parks, Natural Disasters, Introduction to Environmental Science, Environmental Geology, Weather & Climate, Mineralogy, Introduction to Igneous and Metamorphic Petrology, Structural Geology, Plate Tectonics, and Senior Research.

Dr. Jim Martin is an entomologist and ecologist who curates the college's extensive insect collection and carries out water quality research. He teaches courses including Ecology, Parasitology, General Biology II, GIS and GPS, Entomology, and Senior Seminar.

Dr. Tom Muntean is a geologist who teaches Physical Geology, Paleoclimatology, and the Environmental Science capstone, along with a number of classes in the Geology major.
