Career Options for Environmental Science & Studies

Careers in the environmental field are incredibly diverse. Environmental Science majors take science-oriented coursework to prepare them for exciting environmental jobs around the world, including naturalists, conservationists, or environmental scientists for industry or government. When paired with biology and geology degrees, graduates have gone on to careers in forestry and land management, resource management with the Department of Natural Resources and city governments, state and national parks, and at environmental remediation firms. Many of our students have graduate study in environmental fields. Environmental Studies majors take courses oriented in the art, humanities, and natural sciences to prepare for careers such as environmental journalism, environmental politics, environmental accountancy, environmental compliance, and environmental law. Students that have paired Environmental Studies with a humanities degree are currently working at local zoos, as environmental educators and activists, and in park law enforcement. Many more work in business as environmental compliance, or as consultants.
