Career Options for Criminal Justice

Maxwell Miniat graduated in 2019 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice (Law Enforcement track) and a minor in Spanish. After a Study Abroad experience in Colombia where he spent some time with local law enforcement agencies, Max decided to make use of his whole academic skillset with the Michigan State Police. Now stationed at the Paw Paw post, he is part of the MSP Language Translation Program where he helps citizens and law enforcement officers overcome a language barrier to ensure the fair and professional resolution of criminal and non-criminal events.

Courtney Carter graduated in 2018 with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice (Law Enforcement track). Her coursework in Psychology and Social Work, as well as her internship experience with the juvenile probation system, inspired her to work with juveniles who have come to the attention of the juvenile court. Courtney first obtained her Master of Arts degree (also from Adrian College) in December 2019 before entering the field. She now works for Child Safe Michigan, where she is a foster care licensing specialist, certifying new foster parents and placing juveniles in the foster home best suited to their needs.
