Become a biologist.

As an Adrian College Biology major, you will get a strong academic foundation in your field, gain substantial hands-on experience, and learn to think like a biologist. You will learn how living things work from the level of molecules and cells to the whole organism. You will learn how populations evolve over time, and interact with one another. You will learn how micro-organisms work and interact with other living things. Throughout these experiences, you will gain hands-on skills through laboratory experiences taught by our full time faculty. As a junior and senior, you will be able to specialize through electives – perhaps studying human anatomy with cadaver anatomy, physiology, and developmental biology. Or maybe you want to learn about animal behavior, entomology, and vertebrate zoology. Perhaps you want to pursue our new interdisciplinary neuroscience program we have developed collaboratively with the Psychology Department. We encourage you to engage in research opportunities with our faculty or as a summer project at research institutions. Regardless what draws you to study biology or what career path you want to pursue, we will prepare you well for your next steps – in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, research, education, environmental sciences, and so many other fields.
