Army ROTC

DUTY. HONOR. COUNTRY.

The mission of Basic Camp is to allow students to do course work and requirements that will allow them to enroll in the advanced ROTC course at the Junior academic level as well as Graduate students and attain their commission as an Army Officer.

Army officers embody honor, leadership and courage. Adrian College's Bulldog ROTC challenges you to hone your discipline and character to become a stronger leader.

In the Bulldog ROTC, you will experience a tough, comprehensive, values-based leadership program designed to develop the skills necessary for decision making, problem solving, critical thinking and teamwork. In both the military and civilian workforce, you will graduate with your degree and commission as an officer in the U.S. Army.

As part of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), you’ll gain the tools, support and preparation to launch your college career and graduate as an officer in the U.S. Army.

Prerequisites:

  • U.S. citizen or legal U.S. resident
  • 17-34 years of age without a waiver, or up to 39 years of age with a waiver
  • Be of good moral character (satisfactory explanation of civil/criminal convictions)
  • Meet height/weight standards in accordance with Army standards
  • Meet physical fitness

Service Obligation

The service commitment is eight years total: four years on active duty (if selected), then four years in the active reserve component or individual ready reserve.

Scholarships for guard and reserve are available as well. Guaranteed Reserved Forces Duty (GFRD) scholarships require cadets to serve in the National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve and do not compete for active duty.

Enrolled students can participate in ROTC for up to two years with no obligation to the Army. You are free to walk away from the program without repercussions.
