Jim Calcagni ’74

Jim Calcagni ’74, a resident of Youngstown, Ohio, and member of the ATO fraternity, died December 28, 2025, after a nearly three-year battle with cancer. While at Adrian College, Jim “Cal” was the defensive cornerstone on two of the three Bill Davis-coached MIAA co-championship teams. He was named All-
MIAA three times, and recognized as an NCAA Division III All-American linebacker in 1972, and inducted into the Adrian College Hall of Fame in 2004.

Twelve of Cal’s Adrian teammates were among several hundred people who attended a January memorial tribute in Youngstown. The Bulldogs in attendance were Ross Grippi ’74, Mark Radosevic ’75, David Zimmerman ’73, Bill Sullivan ’74, Angelo Antonucci ’75, Dave Seanor ’75, Doug Inscho ’74, Harry Mark ’73, Joe Donofrio ’74, Rob Conklin ’74, Scott Montgomery ’73, and Steve Vargo ’75.

Surviving are his wife, Debbie, a son, a daughter, a sister, two brothers and five grandchildren.
