What Was Your Favorite Class? Film History

What Did You Learn? I learned so much about video editing, talking in front of and operating a camera, and was ready for my career start in reporting. I did both sports and news reporting for the first five years of my professional career.

What Activities Were You Involved In? I was big into working for the radio station, WVAC. I hosted multiple radio shows during my time at Adrian College. My favorite class was Digital Media Production. I also played basketball for two years as a Bulldog, and proceeded to coach at Adrian High School for two years. That helped me develop leadership skills and eventually land me in the position I am in today, where I am in charge of the well-being of more than a dozen students. Also, I interned at WABJ/WQTE in Adrian, and was able to announce local sporting events on the radio. In my first job outside of college, I did live play-by-play on both television and radio.

What Advice Do You Have? There is so much you can learn in your field, and professors can only teach you so much. Practice outside of class, join clubs and keep learning. Have an open mind and soak it all in. It truly is the best four years of your life.
