Dr. Jackson earned a B.A. in Japanese History and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, cum laude, from Tufts University. He holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in East Asian History from Indiana University. He published Network of Knowledge: Western Science and the Tokugawa Information Revolution with the University of Hawai’i Press in 2015. That same year, Adrian College awarded him the Ross Newsom Award for Outstanding Teaching in 2015.
