Threat to campus cleared

Posted Wednesday, April 01, 2026

Earlier this evening, Campus Safety Dispatch received an emergency phone call claiming a potential threat on campus. The Campus Safety Department immediately deployed its emergency response protocol.

Within minutes, the Campus Safety team, along with emergency responders from Michigan State Police, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, the Adrian Police Department and the Adrian Township Police Department secured the perimeter of the suspected buildings and sent out emergency communications to campus personnel and the student body. All potential locations were investigated and cleared by the emergency response team.

It was determined after a police investigation there was no longer a threat to campus. During the alleged incident, the campus was notified via its emergency communication systems.

Adrian College would like to thank and commend the Campus Safety Department, the Michigan State Police, the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department, the Adrian Police Department and the Adrian Township Police Department for their rapid response and thorough efforts to secure and clear campus.

Finally, the College would like to thank its students, faculty, and staff for adhering to the protocols in place and the directions given during the investigation. The community responded admirably.
