It is with deep concern and respect that we acknowledge the recent announcement that Lourdes University will conclude operations at the end of this academic year. For generations, Lourdes has served students and families with a mission-centered commitment to academic opportunity, community engagement, and Franciscan values. Its closing marks a significant moment for higher education in our region and beyond.
We recognize the profound impact this decision will have on Lourdes’ students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters. A university is far more than its buildings and programs, it is a community of people, relationships, traditions, and shared purpose. The uncertainty and emotion that accompany such a transition are real and deeply felt. The Adrian College community extends its sincere thoughts and support to all who are affected.
