Statement to the Community
From the Office of the President, Adrian College

It is with a heavy heart that we at Adrian College acknowledge the profoundly difficult news surrounding the closure of Siena Heights University. For decades, Siena Heights has been a vital institution in our community, providing generations of students with a values-based education rooted in service, leadership, and excellence. This moment represents not just a significant transition for the University, but a loss that will be deeply felt throughout the City of Adrian, Lenawee County, and beyond.

Adrian College recognizes the impact this announcement will have on the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families connected to Siena Heights. We understand the uncertainty and emotional toll that accompanies such a moment. Please know that the Adrian College community extends our thoughts, prayers, and support to all those affected.

While our institutions have maintained distinct identities, we have long shared a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation. Over the years, Adrian College and Siena Heights University have partnered on numerous initiatives in service to our city, our region, and the greater good. These collaborations have enriched our institutions and strengthened our community.

In the spirit of that partnership, Adrian College stands ready to assist during this challenging time. We are committed to working with the leadership at Siena Heights University to explore meaningful ways we might be able to support students, faculty, and staff as they navigate the coming months.

In times of uncertainty, it is our unity that defines us. The Adrian College community remains dedicated to the well-being of our city and all who call it home.

With sincere respect and solidarity,
Jeffrey R. Docking
President, Adrian College
