Mike Prang, Sports Information Director at Adrian College, is scheduled to be a panelist in the “Expanding Your Game – Tips for Learning New Sports” webinar, set for Wednesday, June 5, at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Organized by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), this session is a highlight of the 2024 U Summit, focusing on the challenges and strategies involved in managing sports communications for unfamiliar sports.

“It is an honor to be asked by CSC to speak at the 2024 U Summit,” said Mike Prang. “The topic that my panel will touch on is perfect, given the 50 athletic programs at Adrian College. I hope that my experiences covering the athletic programs here will be a useful resource to those in attendance.”

During the webinar, Prang will share his expertise in adapting to various athletic disciplines, emphasizing the importance of mastering rulebooks and engaging directly with athletes and coaches. Attendees will learn practical strategies for enhancing their skills and confidence in sports communications.

“The CSC U Summit is an event I attended in the past, and it was very influential in how I approach my job today,” Prang added. “It is not only useful for professionals within the field but also for communication and sport management majors, along with interns.”

Other distinguished panelists include Sam Boyle, Director of Strategic Communications at Carthage, and Sebastian Bush, Assistant Director of Athletics for Communication & Sports Information at The City College of New York. The session will be moderated by Colin Terrill, Director of Sports Information and Promotions at the University of Chicago.

“I hope that some of our students at Adrian College see the Sports Information Office as a place to intern or do work study to gain real-life experience working in sports.” Prang expressed, highlighting the educational opportunities available at Adrian College

Registration is now open, and participants can sign up to join this session.
