Approximately 1,200 visitors toured Adrian College’s campus during its Sneak Peek Day on Friday, July 12. The annual event offers incoming freshmen a glimpse of campus accommodations and student life. They also had the opportunity to meet with their roommates to plan for the fall semester. Students and their families browsed the College bookstore, dined at Ritchie Marketplace, toured around the Mall and met fellow incoming Bulldogs.
Jordan Krucek of Cleveland, Ohio came to the campus with his mother and father. The incoming freshman, who will major in athletic training, said he was impressed with what he has seen so far.
“I’m most looking forward to seeing the dorms and getting to work tonight at the football camp,” he said. “It’s a beautiful campus.”
Staff and faculty were on hand during the day to answer questions, discuss the upcoming fall semester and provide a first-hand tour to incoming students, family and friends.
“I’m most looking forward to meeting new people and the faculty,” Jessika Brown said. “I am beyond excited for it. I just got all of my classes set up so I want to go and see where they are.”
Brown is from the Devil’s Lake area and will major in psychology at AC.
“I want to help children and pursue a degree here, and finally start my practice here in Adrian,” Brown said.
Sneak Peek Day also provided full access to many academic buildings and dorms. A lot of the incoming students also pre-registered for their fall classes in anticipation of Welcome Week in August.
A highlight for one parent was hearing President Jeffrey Docking speak in Dawson Auditorium.
“He even inspired me,” Robert Thomas, of Clawson, Mich., said. “I told him I want to go back to college because of what he said about what they offer the students here. It’s obvious he really cares. I hope that rubs off on my son [Logan Thomas], and when he leaves here he is just as excited about his future as president Docking is. We’re just really excited about Logan being a part of the school. They really offer a lot for these students.”
This fall, Adrian College anticipates a class of over 645 new students.
