Dr. Drew to speak at Adrian College in NSLS broadcast event

Dr. Drew Pinsky will be participating in a broadcast event sponsored by the Adrian College chapter of The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, in the Adrian Tobias Room. The event is free to all students, staff and faculty. The broadcast will be streamed live and hosted by iPlay America in New Jersey. All viewers are invited to submit questions via Twitter and Facebook, which will be answered live during the broadcast.

Dr. Pinsky, commonly known as Dr. Drew, is an addiction expert, best-selling author, and television and radio personality. He will share personal stories of overcoming obstacles in his journey from being a medical school student to becoming one of the world’s most recognized doctors. Dr. Drew will talk about building resiliency and share findings from his research in exploring the science behind addiction and destigmatizing mental illness.

This is the fourth installment of the 2018-2019 multi-speaker broadcast series sponsored by the NSLS. The speaker broadcast series, which reaches more than 670 college campuses each month during the academic year, is designed to support the overall NSLS mission of “Building Leaders Who Make a Better World.”

The NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. It was founded in 2001 to build a community of like-minded, success-oriented leaders who come together to help one another succeed. The NSLS offers interactive broadcasts with the nation’s best speakers, training in goal setting, and team meetings in which students set and hold each other accountable for achieving goals. These benefits, which aim to help members personally and professionally, are offered for the rest of their lives. The NSLS has chapters on more than 670 college and university campuses nationwide and serves more than 980,000 members.

Dr. Drew received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College and his M.D. from the University of Southern California, School of Medicine. He has been appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and is a member of the board for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. He has made many appearances on Ellen, Oprah, Rachael Ray, The View, Dr. Oz, Steve Harvey Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Good Morning America, the Today Show, CNN and the Fox News Channel.

Additionally, Dr. Drew hosted the nationally syndicated radio show Loveline where he took calls from listeners and answered questions about adolescent and young adult health and relationship topics. He also starred in the hit reality series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew on VH1, which chronicled the struggle for sobriety and the cycle of addictive disorders of a group of celebrities.
