Adrian College water tests return all clear

Posted Tuesday, January 15, 2019

In light of recent events, reports and concerns regarding the City of Adrian’s water purification processing, Adrian College has tested and continues to monitor the safety of its water supply. A Bacteriological Analysis of Drinking Water test was conducted at five Adrian College facilities and analyzed by the City of Tecumseh’s Wastewater Treatment Plant. Results returned on January 11, 2019 confirmed all locations were clear of Coliforms and other contaminants.

Five of the Type II (school, industry, restaurant, office, etc.) College buildings were tested on January 10, including Feeman Hall, Pellowe, Dawson Auditorium, Herrick Hall and Valade Hall.

The Result Code given to all five AC facilities was “ND.” The ND result is “Coliforms not detected. The result meets state safety standards for time of sampling. Water source/treatment should also meet standards to assure continued safety.”

Adrian College will continue to monitor its water quality and inform its faculty, staff and students of any changes. Within the next two weeks, the College intends to test five additional locations including; the Merillat Center, Caine Student Center, Peelle Hall, Arrington Ice Arena, and Mahan Hall. These additional tests will be run in order to monitor and confirm water quality.
