Jennifer Towns

Dr. Jennifer Towns has over 15 years working in the social work field, providing clinical treatment in a variety of settings, including: hospitals, community mental health departments, and private practice. Her work as a therapist incorporates multiple evidence-based practice modalities, including: EMDR, Internal Family Systems, mind-body/somatic components, Dialectical Behavioral components, and solution-focused therapy – all primarily to treat complex interpersonal trauma and trauma related to minority stress/status. Dr. Towns has been teaching in higher education for 9 years at both a BSW and MSW level, and teaches courses on Policy, Diversity, Theory, Professional Documentation/Grant Writing, Research, and Trauma. Her research focuses on trauma-informed care and the impact of trauma on adult functioning - especially in first-generation college students or among the LGBTQIA+ population. She is also a member of many workgroups that focus on advancing equality and social justice through education, therapy, and political action.

Jody DiMarco

Jody DiMarco has over 20 years’ experience in the social work field. Professor DiMarco began as the Director of Field Education at Adrian College in 2016. Prior to this position, she was a School Social Worker for 16 years with the Lenawee Intermediate School District. In addition to her extensive work with children and youth, Professor DiMarco served as a clinical preceptor for MSW students through local universities that include the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and Western Michigan University. Additionally, she has worked as a child and family therapist with a local agency. Currently Professor DiMarco serves as a board member for Associated Charities of Lenawee that assists families throughout the county. Professor DiMarco has a passion for preparing the next generation of students for making a difference in the social work field.
