Public Health Overview

The Public Health program at Adrian College, offered as either a Bachelor of Science or a Business Minor, prepares students to make a meaningful impact on community health and public policy.

Public Health is both a science and an art: the science of preventing disease and prolonging life, and the art of promoting health through organized community efforts and informed decision-making. Students gain a strong foundation in health systems, policy, and leadership, while developing the analytical and problem-solving skills needed to address today’s most pressing health challenges.

Graduates are prepared for a wide range of careers, including Healthcare Administrator, Health and Safety Engineer, Environmental Specialist, and Health Educator. This program is ideal for students who are passionate about healthcare but not pursuing a clinical or medical path.

The field also offers rewarding career prospects. Healthcare administrators earn a median salary of over $104,000 per year, and provides an excellent foundation for advanced study in Public Health, Epidemiology, and related graduate programs.
