Our Data Analytics curriculum is based on the University of California, Berkeley's Data Science curriculum. It was adjusted for LCMC students and uses Dr. Charles Severance's "For Everyone" materials for programming.
The program was reviewed by experts in academia and business and only contains what's needed for a career. It's smaller and less time-intensive than competing programs so students have the flexibility to allow for liberal arts pursuits.
By offering some of these courses online, we give students access to world-leading faculty and a curriculum vetted by real Fortune 500 companies.
Dr. Charles Severance, University of Michigan - Dr. Charles Severance holds a PhD in Computer Science from Michigan State University. He is the former Executive Director of the Sakai Foundation, and one of the world’s leading online CS educators. His contributions helped complete the curriculum for Data Analytics.

Data Analytics and Data Science offer students the opportunity to pursue a wide range of careers in business, finance and healthcare. Data Analyst starting salaries range from $65,000 - $115,000, and Data Scientist salaries are approximately 25-30% higher. Both classes are highly technical, however, students will have a solid basis in programming - for the former - or data analytics - for the latter - before taking either class, improving success.
