The Computer Science Department offers the following two programs in Cybersecurity:
Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity:
The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity aims to produce graduates with the necessary expertise to assume roles as cybersecurity experts. This B.Sc. program integrates specialized coursework to provide students with a holistic understanding of cybersecurity issues and solutions. Graduates of this program can pursue roles such as cybersecurity analysts, penetration testers, incident responders, security architects, and compliance officers, among others. Students are exposed to network security, including Wi-Fi network security, system security through the proper configuration of operating systems, storage security, encryption, and the analysis of system logs.
Associate of Arts in Cybersecurity:
The Associate of Arts degree in Cybersecurity at Adrian provides students with a solid foundation in the field, blending essential computer science and programming skills with specialized courses in cybersecurity. Students begin with introductory courses in computer science and programming, laying the groundwork for more advanced studies. The core curriculum introduces fundamental cybersecurity concepts, covering topics such as cybercrime, governance, networking, network security, and cyber forensics. Specialized courses, including Linux command line and shell environments, Linux configuration and administration, and elements of penetration testing, equip students with practical skills in securing and administering systems. This program ensures graduates are well-prepared to navigate the complex landscape of cybersecurity, addressing both the theoretical and practical aspects of the field.
