Graduate Studies
Pursuing your dream career starts with the next phase of your education. When you enroll in graduate school at Adrian College, you’re beginning more than advanced training in your field; you’re accelerating your professional journey.

The Institute for Career Planning is here to help throughout every career development process. Below is a compiled selection of resources to guide you in your search for internships and jobs.
International students need to apply for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) in order to get an internship. CPT is training for students while they are still attending school and may not be required by every field of study. CPT may only be authorized if a position is already secured. Applying for CPT must be done a few weeks in advance to when the internship packet is due. To apply you must already have an internship position then email Adrian College’s DSO, Emily Watkins, ewatkins@adrian.edu to get final approval. Here is a list of approved internships for international students.

To be able to work in your desired field while maintaining F-1 status, international students must apply for Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT allows for further work experience after graduation. To apply you must contact the PDSO/DSO on campus, ewatkins@adrian.edu. OPT does not require a position to be secured previous to applying, but they take around three months to be approved so contact Emily Watkins in advance of your graduation date.
