Student Employee FAQs

What is the difference between FWS and CCE?
FWS (federal work-study) is based on need and will be shown as an award on your Financial Aid award letter.CCE (college campus employment) is not based on need and will not be shown as an award on your Financial Aid awardletter with the exception of International awards.

How much can I earn from FWS and CCE?
The maximum amount that can be earned through either program is $2,000 per academic year. While students may choose to earn all of their funds in one semester, due to sports schedules or course load, the idea is for a student to earn $1,000 per semester. Please keep this in mind as you are calculating your payment plan.

How does the $2,000 Federal Work-Study award work?
In order for the $2,000 award to be applied against the student account balance, the student must first apply for and obtain a job on campus. Students must then sign up to have their earnings applied against their student account. This can be done by completing the on-line Student Deduction Form at this link https://fm.adrian.edu/fmi/webd. If a student’s financial account balance becomes past due, as a condition of employment, the student will assign 75% of their net pay to the School to be applied against their financial account until the account is brought current (please visit Student Business Services for payment plan options).

Can I have more than one Campus Employment job?
Due to the limited number of positions available on campus, students are only allowed one job. This includes jobs as an RA (Resident Assistant). You can however, also be a Tutor through Academic Services.

Can I change job positions during the academic year?
Yes. First, speak with your supervisor regarding your situation. If you choose to leave their employment please ask your supervisor to submit your resignation to the Student Termination Notification Form, available on the Supervisors Resources page.

Can international students work on campus?
International students may work on campus but must apply for a U.S. social security number once they have obtained a job. Please view International Student Employment for additional information.

What documents do I need to complete before I can work?
Upon hire, you will receive an email with instructions to bring your required I-9 documents (Employment Eligibility Verification) to the HR office. These are original documents required for the I-9 form, see list of acceptable documents. We cannot accept photo copies of these documents you must present the original documents.
