Student Support Resources

This section highlights the wide range of student support resources available to help you succeed both academically and personally. Whether you need assistance understanding course material, improving your writing or study skills, planning your academic path, or maintaining your overall well-being, these services are designed to support you every step of the way. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these resources early and often, and to reach out whenever they need guidance or support. While this is a strong starting point, it is not a complete list, and additional resources are available across campus to meet a variety of student needs.

  • Professor: If you have a question or need some help understanding a new concept, the first place to go is the class professor. Many professors hold office hours to meet with students. Students should check their syllabus to see when these are. They are also welcome to email their professor to set up a meeting.
  • Writing Center: Located on the first floor of the Caine Student Center, this is a place where trained peer writing tutors can help you with any stage in the writing process for any class.
  • Math Lab: Located in Peelle Hall 215, you can drop in for help from peer tutors and math professors with your math questions. The Math Lab is open daily Monday through Friday.
  • Academic Success Skills: For general help with test taking, time management, study, note taking, and other skills related to your academic success, visit Academic Services in Jones Hall 205. Academic Services is open 8:30 AM- 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
  • Academic Advisor: For assistance in planning course selection for future semesters, contact your academic advisor to set up a meeting.
  • Career Planning: For career or internship assistance, visit the Office of Career Planning located next to the Bookstore in Caine Student Center.
  • Health & Counseling Center: For assistance with mental or physical health, visit the Health & Counseling Center located next to Arrington Ice Arena.
  • Librarians: Here to assist students with research skills and locating information to support their academic work.
  • Testing Center: The testing Center is located in the basement of Shipman Library.  This service is available for all students, with or without accommodations.  Please speak with your professor and use the link below to schedule your exam.
