The Christian Right is the most significant social movement in the United States since Civil Rights. Yet, as a social movement, it is virtually ignored by the popular media and press. I believe that part of the reason for this is that most Americans do not have a clear understanding of the movement, its objectives, its strategies, and its underlying principles. In these pages, I hope to provide such a overview so that the American people can have a better understanding about the political/cultural/social forces that are attempting to re-shape the nation.

The Christian Right
This page introduces the major characteristics of the movement. Included here are the leaders, principles, strategies, and organization that make the Christian Right such a powerful force in contemporary American culture.

My Book

Published in 1999, by New York University Press, Standing on the Premises of God, explores the Christian Right as a social movement seeking to redefine American public education. It develops in detail the characteristics introduced on my Christian Right webpage.

The Radical Right

This page outlines the groups that stand at the far right margins of the Christian Right and draws some critical distinctions among them.

Occasional Papers

Included here are papers and articles in which I develop my thoughts about various aspects and issues surrounding the Christian Right.
