What is all this "Fin-Com" stuff about?

Fin-Come is…

Fin-Com is a panel of students who represent the student body of Adrian College. Fin-Com is governed by the Student Government Association (SGA), chaired by the Executive Vice-President of SGA, and advised by the Student Activities Coordinator. CAB reviews and evaluates funding requests from all recognized campus organizations and then allocates an amount based on available funds and the request’s adherence to evaluation criteria. The board focuses on ensuring quality and diversity throughout the scheduled events on campus.

Fin-com also encourages student organizations to work together to provide activities for the college community. By combining efforts, skills, abilities, and allocations from various student groups, more students will be involved and benefit in a greater variety and number of activities.

Fin-Com seeks to support a balanced and diverse schedule of activities that will best meet the needs of Adrian College students.

Who is on the Fin-Com?

Fin-Com is comprised of seven student representatives. Fin-Com is governed by the Student Government Association (SGA) constitution and is chaired by the Executive Vice President of SGA. In order to create a board which is representative of the student population at Adrian College, these representatives are selected by the Student Government Association. The Commissioner of class officers of SGA is the Secretary/Treasurer for Fin-Com. The Secretary/Treasurer does not vote and the Chair only votes in the event of a tie.

What does the Fin-Com do?

Fin-Com reviews funding requests from all recognized student organizations. Fin-Com then allocates funding to the organization based evaluation criteria and with an eye toward ensuring quality and diversity throughout the entire schedule of campus events. Fin-Com allocates up to 45% of the annual student activity fees to student organizations.
