The objectives
of our Fraternity are the promotion of growth in character,
unity of feeling, sisterly affection, and social communion
among all our members. In all we do, we try to obey
God's principles of justice and right. We have banded
ourselves together to improve our minds and hearts and
seek to aid each other through a constant watchcare
always given in love. We believe ourselves to be sincere
searchers for truth.
Our first chapter,
which was the Alpha Chapter, was located at Syracuse
University. This chapter was founded in 1872. Our ten
founders all had very diverse backgrounds, and strong
personalities, which make Alpha Phi what it is today.
The first chapter house was purchased in June of 1886
for the Alpha Chapter at Syracuse University.
Alpha Phi offers
scholarships to its active members who show interest
in them. The scholarships are funded through our philanthropy,
The Alpha Phi Foundation.
The Delta Eta Chapter
has been active on the Adrian College campus and within
the city. We have spent a lot of time with the seniors
at Lynwood Manor, which is located in Adrian. We have
also been active with the annual Party Sober Night,
Student
Government Association, varsity athletics, intramural
athletics, Mortar Board, Order of Omega, and Residence
Life.
We seek the highest
ideal of womanhood, and we try to gain this ideal by
cultivating not only the power and passion for seeking
intellectual development, but also the spirit of love
and charity. We who are thus united are under a solemn
pledge to lend a helping hand to one another.
