ALPHA seeks to:

• Promote unity among minority students.
  
• Provide emotional, political, religious, and social support.
  
• Promote peace and justice.
  
• Encourage members to do well academically.
  
• Provide members with opportunities to develop leadership, study and communication skills.
  
• Facilitate forums on diversity issues for students.
  
• Celebrate the contributions that Blacks and other minorities have made to the United States.
  
• Provide a learning situation for students.
  
• Promote a greater amount of interaction between African Americans and other students.

Service
ALPHA is also engaged in service to the community by having several fund raising activities throughout the year. As a long standing organization on campus, ALPHA also co-sponsors events throughout the year with other student organizations and the Multicultural Programs.
