Diversity
is the mosaic of people who bring a variety
of backgrounds, styles, perspectives,
values and beliefs as assets to the groups
and organizations with which they interact.
--Diversity: The ASTD
Trainer's Sourcebook (1995). Tina Rasmussen,
editor. pg.8. |
The goal of Multicultural
Programs is to:
- increase awareness and
understanding of ethnicity, cultures, and
diversity.
- explore the effects of
racism, sexism, and homophobia on students,
faculty and staff
- and enhance understanding
of the value of a diverse environment/world
in order to celebrate and embrace our differences
and to instill the belief in the members of
the campus community that diversity is valuable
to each of us.
For additional information
about diversity, contact the Director of Multicultural
Programs, Idalí
Feliciano.
