Week Event Information
Greek
Week Event Rules
All Week Events
Brick
Wars
Location: Campus, Fraternity and Sorority
outdoor property
Time: 12 AM Monday – 7 PM Closing
Party on Friday
It’s time to bring back one of Adrian
College Greek Life’s favorite games:
Brick Wars! Read the rules carefully and
follow them, and we’ll bring a great
prize at the end of the week for the winner!
Penny
Wars
Location: Ritchie and Caine
Time: Lunch and Dinner
Our Philanthropy project for the spring
of 2009, Penny wars will go on all week.
Not only will the winners of the event get
to choose where the money is donated to
they’ll get a pretty sweet prize as
well! This competition is open to the entire
campus, so encourage your non-Greek friends
to participate and help your fraternity
or sorority out!
Monday:
Letter Day
Wear your letters and represent your fraternity
or sorority!
Event: Car
Smash
Location: TBA
Time: 12-4 PM
Come on over and smash a car! Or pay a
little more to smash something actually
breakable, like a television, computer,
or glass object. We’ll also have
spray paint, which you can use on the
car if you have something that you really
want to say to everyone.
Event: Circle
Tag
Location: The Mall
Time: 3-5 PM, or until play halts
A twist on your average game of tag, circle
tag is way more fun and provides a lot
of laughs for everyone. This game will
get us moving and provides an endless
number of entertaining opportunities for
turnarounds and thinking on your feet.
Event: Dutch
Auction
Location: Caine Student Center
Time: 7:30 PM
A classic game, the Dutch Auction is a
game of improvisation and hilarity that
will keep the best of us laughing. With
the items that you have, make the best---or
the worst---of whatever category we give
you, be it fireman, teacher, or excuse
for getting out of a blind date with a
distant redneck cousin.
Event: Twister
Location: Caine Student Center
Time: 9:00 PM
Another twist on a classic game, you’ll
love this one! You’ll just have
to show up in teams of four and find out
how much fun Twister (with a twist) can
be! I promise that you’ll have no
regrets.
Tuesday:
Game Night
Dress up as a character or concept from
your favorite game, if you so desire.
Event: Capture
The Flag
Location: The Mall/Campus
Time: 3-5 PM
With your Greek partner, your sorority
or fraternity must work as a team to keep
your flag safe! Located all around Adrian’s
main campus, this game promises to be
interesting, with unusual partnerings
and all kinds of obstacles---including
other students on their way to class!
Event: Game
Night
Location: The AT Room
Time: 7-11 PM
Another fun get-together night for all
of Greek Life. Guitar Hero, Dance Dance
Revolution, and other videogames will
be available, as will board games like
Apples To Apples, Outburst, Scattegories,
and Last Word. There will also be decks
of cards. And, of course, like any good
game night, we’ll have all kinds
of snacks and drinks for everyone. Swing
on by and have some fun with your Greek
Friends!
Event: Eating
Contest
Location: Ritchie
Time: 12:00 PM
Select some of your fraternity or sorority
members to participate in our eating contest
at Ritchie! Don’t get too full.
Event: Mock
Rock
Location: The Bell Tower; Caine Student
Center in foul weather
Time: 5 PM
Put together your best singing/lipsyncing
group (or your worst, for laughs) and
show us what you’ve got! Each sorority
or fraternity is requested to participate.
Make sure that you have a copy of your
music, clearly labeled, turned in to Connie
before Mock Rock starts to avoid any confusion.
Come on out and check it out… it’s
gonna be a blast!
Event: Toilet
Paper Wrapping
Location: Caine Student Center
Time: 8 PM
Who doesn’t want the chance to wrap
someone up in toilet paper? Pick your
target, wrap them up as fast as you can,
and watch them tear themselves free. It’s
sure to be a laugh; don’t miss what’s
sure to be a great time!
Thursday:
Pin/Badge Attire
Wear your pin or badge attire and support
your fraternity or sorority!
Event: Greek
Awards Banquet
Location: A/T Room
Time: 6:30 PM
Wear your pin or badge attire, and come
discover who’s who amongst the Greeks.
Event:
Fashion Wars/ Building Contest
Location: Cain Student Center
Time: TBA at the banquet
Girls and guys will trade victims volunteers,
and dress them in whatever appropriate
fashion they so desire, complete with
make-up and hairdos if you so desire!
The results will be showcased in a circuit
of the main floor of the Student Center.
The Building Contest will be a race to
find the best materials---you can only
use the ones specified on the rule sheet---and
build a model of something that will be
specified when the event actually begins.
Friday:
Toga Party!
Do it. You know you want to. Wear your toga
all day and show those college kids how
it’s done!
Event:
Greek Olympics
Location: The Quad; Merillat in foul weather
Time: 2-5 PM
Olympics. Be there. Or be square. That’s
all there is to it. We’ll have some
of the typical events---Tug ‘o War,
water balloon tosses, and things of that
nature---and a few that most people probably
won’t be so familiar with.
Event:
Closing Party/Bonfire
Location: The Pavillion
Time: 7 PM
Come on out and enjoy the closing of Greek
Week with your friends! Pizza, pop, and
a bonfire will make the night some kind
of fun for everyone who comes.
