Welcome to the Adrian College Family: A few words from President Docking...

As the oldest first year student on campus, I welcome you to Adrian College! Like many of you, I begin my first year here with all of the anticipation and excitement that accompanies a new beginning. I hope you will join me in looking forward to a great year with many exciting changes and a renewed sense of energy at the College.

I chose to join the Adrian family because I am convinced that small liberal arts colleges like this one offer the best undergraduate education available to students. In your academic pursuits, you will enjoy small classes, a devoted faculty, a teaching-centered experience, and a College dedicated to helping you find internships and career opportunities that will prepare you for success.

Outside the classroom you will find unlimited opportunities to meet new friends and participate in social and cultural activities that will enrich your college years. With over 60 clubs and organizations on campus, varsity and intramural athletics programs, and an active community, everyone at Adrian can find a place to "plug in."

This handbook is your road map to understanding the resources here. You can find information on academic affairs, student affairs, the college business office, and many other areas of the College. You will also learn your responsibilities as a member of the Adrian student community.

If you become involved in all that Adrian has to offer, I am convinced that you will find these next four years to be the most enjoyable and gratifying in your life. You will also acquire the knowledge and skills gained through intellectual challenges that will prepare you for success well beyond college.
