Community
Service
The Office of Student Activities is your connection to the community.
The office maintains a database of community agencies, plans several
annual service events, and serves as a resource for anyone interested
in community service.
Annual Service Projects
Blood Drives: Through various student organizations,
Red Cross sponsors multiple opportunities for blood donation each
year .
Community Outreach Week: Each Spring, the
Student Activities Office cooperates with on-campus organizations
and the community to establish a week of events devoted to service.
Community Plunge: Adrian College students
experience their first opportunity for community service. During
freshman orientation, students are separated into groups and shuttled
to various local agencies where they familiarize themselves with
peers while contributing to their new community.
Dance Marathon: Students and volunteers
collaborate to raise money for a charitable cause through various
fundraisers, culminating in the Dance Marathon held each Spring.
Gift of Life Ball: Each Fall, African American
Leaders Promoting Higher Education (ALPHA) sponsors a formal dinner
and dance to raise money for a selected cause.
Rake & Run: Each Fall, the Student
Government Association (SGA) cooperates with the Department on Aging
and rakes the lawns of the elderly and disabled.
