Scots claim MIAA opener

ADRIAN, Mich.—The Adrian College women’s soccer team lost their MIAA opener to Alma College by a score of 4-1 in a very physical match up on Saturday.

The Scots got on the scoreboard first witha Jessica Swan goal in the 31st minute. They quickly added to their lead when Britni Patrick scored a goal of her own in the 33rd minute, giving the Scots the 2-0 lead into the half.

Lindsay Chitwood got the Bulldogs on the board early in the second half when teammate Brittany Moreau fed a pass over the Scots' defenders to Chitwood, who then scored the Bulldogs' only goal of the game. Sarah Merritt scored another goal for the Scots while Jessica Swan added her second goal of the game to round out the scoring.

Adrian, now 2-6-1 on the season, hosts Rochester College on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
