Bulldogs outdone by Quakers,
2-0
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The
Adrian College women’s soccer team was defeated
0-2 on Tuesday night by the Earlham College Quakers
at the Adrian College Performance Stadium.
Earlham
scored its first goal in the sixth minute when
Emily Roth went far post to beat AC goalkeeper
Amanda House. Franny Newport scored later in the
68th minute to give the Quakers a 2-0 lead off
an assist from Elby Neil.
The
Bulldogs out-shot the visitors 11-8, with four
shots coming from Lindsay Chitwood and two from
Erin Russell. Several Adrian runs, and eight corner
kicks, came up empty, as EC goalkeeper Casie Byrd
recorded a clean sheet. House had five saves for
Adrian.
The
Bulldogs are now 2-5 on the season and will open
MIAA play when they host Hope College on Saturday
at noon.
