Majenica
Rupe will begin her first year as the
assistant women’s basketball coach
at Adrian College during the 2007-08 season.
The Big Rapids, Michigan native has
a considerable amount of playing and
coaching experience that will add to
the Bulldog program. Rupe has had assistant
coaching positions at the Southern Illinois
University - Edwardsville, the University
of Missouri - St. Louis, and Maryville
University. During her stint at Southern
Illinois, the Cougars led the nation
in out-rebounding their opponents by
10+ rebounds per game. Additionally,
Rupe also served as the head women’s
volleyball coach at Webster University
during the 1999-2000 season.
Rupe played college basketball at the
University of Notre Dame. While she
was a member of the Fighting Irish women’s
basketball team, Notre Dame received
their first national ranking in women’s
basketball (1990-91) and made their
first ever NCAA Tournament appearance
(1991). Rupe has played professionally
in nine different countries, including
Portugal, Germany, and Russia. During
her professional career, Rupe averaged
16 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocked
shots per contest.
Rupe
graduated from the University of Notre
Dame in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts
in Government and International Studies.
