Knights end Bulldogs’ season, 90-52
GRAND
RAPIDS, Mich.—The
Adrian College women’s basketball team’s
season came to an end with a 52-90 loss at #2
Calvin College in the quarterfinals of the MIAA
Tournament on Tuesday night.
Sophomore
forward Jenny Carlson led the Bulldogs with 12
points on 6-of-11 shooting. Freshman center Kim
Olech had 10 points and six rebounds, while freshman
guard Liz Hafeli had eight points and eight rebounds.
Adrian
shot just 34% from the floor and 10% from three-point
land.
Marcia
Harris led Calvin, ranked #2 in the nation, with
16 points.
Midway
through the first half, the Knights took a 29-6
lead on two free throws from Brook VanEck. Calvin’s
first-half lead ballooned to 30 when Rachael Willett
converted a lay-up in transition to make the score
46-19.
Calvin
continued to pour it on in the second half, leading
by as many as 42.
The
Bulldogs end their season at 9-16.
