Adrian College Volleyball ranks
eighth in the region
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The Adrian College volleyball
team has been ranked eighth in the Great Lakes
Region by the NCAA Division III Women’s
Volleyball Committee.
The
Bulldogs, 16-8 overall and 11-4 in the MIAA,
earned their way onto the list after defeating
seventh-ranked Hope on Saturday, 3-2, in Holland.
AC is 12-6 against Great Lakes Region teams
on the season. Adrian has also defeated fourth-ranked
Capital University, 3-1 on Sept. 15.
Junior
Lindsey Eshelman (Adrian) is leading the Bulldogs
with 3.74 kills-per-game. Senior Abby Sikora
(Ceresco) is distributing 10.25 assists per
game. Sophomore Samantha Mercy (Clinton) is
leading the way in digs with 5.34 digs per
game, while junior Sara Morningstar (Addison)
averages 1.07 blocks per game.
On
Tuesday, Adrian downed Olivet College 3-0
in their final regular-season home game. They
will travel to Saint Mary’s College
in their season finale before hosting a first-round
MIAA Tournament game on Tuesday at the Merillat
Center.
MIAA
foe Calvin is ranked first in the region with
a 24-1 record, while seventh-ranked Hope is
18-8.
