ADRIAN, Mich.-- The Adrian College volleyball team has been awarded the GamePlan/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2006-07 season by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The Bulldogs were named recipients of the award by maintaining a cumulative team GPA of at least 3.30. Adrian College was one of 53 NCAA Division III schools to earn the award, which has been presented by the AVCA since 1992.

An 18-9 (12-4 MIAA) squad a season ago, the Bulldogs will open the 2007 season at the Mount Union Tournament on August 31 and September 1 before opening their home slate against MIAA-foe Saint Mary’s College on September 4 at 7 p.m.

AC volleyball is led by head coach Lori Papineau, who is entering her second season at Adrian.
