ADRIAN, Mich.—Five
Adrian College volleyball student athletes were
honored as All-MIAA performers on Tuesday afternoon.
The 2006 Adrian College Bulldogs
finished 18-9 overall and 12-4 in the MIAA (3rd
place).
Senior setter Abby Sikora (Ceresco,
Harper Creek HS) and junior outside hitter Lindsey
Eshelman (Adrian, Adrian HS) were named to the
All-MIAA first team. Junior middle hitter Sara
Morningstar (Addison, Addison HS) earned second-team
All-MIAA recognition, while senior libero Kacie
Ehinger (Adrian, Adrian HS) and sophomore middle
hitter Holly Pellegrin (Howell, Howell HS) appeared
on the honorable-mention All-MIAA list.
Sikora ended the 2006 season with
1,016 assists and 354 digs. Her career total of
9,972 assists is an Adrian College record. She
also set the Adrian College single-season record
for aces with 43 this season.
Eshelman appeared on the All-MIAA
first team for the second year. She had a team-high
373 kills on the season. She also recorded 233
digs and 30 aces on the year.
Morningstar set the Adrian College
single-season record for blocks with 104. She
was second on the team with 212 kills.
Ehinger is the school’s
career leader in digs with 1,788. She had 208
during the 2006 season.
