GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The Adrian College volleyball team’s 2006 season came to a close on Friday night when they fell in five games to Hope College at the MIAA Tournament hosted by Calvin College.

Adrian held a 2-1 lead going into game four, but fell 28-30 going into the final game. In the fifth frame, the Bulldogs were eventually downed 12-15, giving them their ninth loss of the season.

Senior Abby Sikora finished with 57 assists in the match, breaking the 1,000 assist plateau for the season.

Lindsey Eshelman led all players with 22 kills, while Sara Morningstar added 15 scores and eight blocks for Adrian. Samantha Mercy led AC in digs with 24.

Nora Slenk led Hope with 20 kills.

Adrian finished the MIAA season with a 12-4 conference mark and were ranked eighth in the Great Lakes Region.
