out-duel Thunder in five games

The Adrian College volleyball team
defeated the Tri-State University
Thunder 3-2 (30-25, 21-30, 30-28,
21-30, 15-9) on Thursday evening.
Jenny
Carlson and Lindsey Eshelman paced
the Bulldogs with 16 and 14 kills
respectively. Samantha Mercy led all
Bulldogs with 23 digs. The big story
of the night, however, was that senior
middle hitter Sara Morningstar broke
the Adrian College career block record
with her seven block (three solo,
four block assist) night.
The Thunder were led by a 28 kill
effort by Tia Roberts and a 22 kill
effort by Sallie Richardson. Erica
Bednarski had a game-high 30 digs
in the loss for Tri-State.
The
Bulldogs improve to 9-6 overall and
6-1 in the MIAA and will travel to
Olivet College on Saturday for a Triangular
with Olivet and Kalamazoo. The Bulldogs
will take on the host Comets at 11
a.m. and then face the Hornets at
1 p.m.
