Adrian track competes at Calvin College
Bulldogs fall to Knights and Alma Scots

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—The Adrian College track and field teams competed in an MIAA double dual at Calvin College on Monday afternoon, with both squads falling to the Knights and Alma College.

The men lost 65-107 against Alma and 52-120 versus the hosts. The AC women fell 36-117 against Alma and 11-123 to the Knights.

The men’s 4 X 100 relay team of Chris Calley, Justyn Bensett, Patrick Reagan and Desmond Upsaw won the event with a time of 42.68. The Bulldogs’ 4 X 400 team also won with a mark of 3:35.33.

Upshaw finished second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.50. Neal Mossing placed third in the 800-meters, finishing in 2:00.37. Jacob Lauver and Jeffrey Boyce were third in the shot put and discus, respectively, with marks of 13.05 meters and 37.49 meters. David Hartford was third in the pole vault at 3.50 meters.

Chris Elsey was third in the 400-meters at 52.50. Bensett and Hartford placed second and third in the javelin with throws of 43.23 and 42.01 meters, respectively.

On the women’s side, Hayden Ahrens was third in the 800 at 2:30.28, while Chelsey Berlin placed third in the 1500 with a time of 5:19.60.

The Adrian track teams will next compete at MIAA Field Day at Calvin College on Thursday and Friday.
