Bulldog men and women both 11th at Dick Small
Calley has good showing in Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio—The Adrian College Bulldog track and field teams opened the 2007 outdoor season with a pair of 11th-place finishes at the Dick Small Invitational in Defiance, Ohio on Saturday.

For the Bulldog women, Allison Lofgren finished fourth in the long jump at 4.49 meters. Amy Bodnar took fourth in the javelin at 28.35 meters and sixth in the discuss with a toss of 30.46 meters.

For the Adrian men, Chris Calley finished an impressive seventh in the 200-meter dash at 23.14, while Chris Elsey was fourth in the 800-meters at 2:03.2. Jay Yockey was sixth in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:13.5.

The men’s 4X100 relay team also had an impressive outing. Calley, Patrick Reagan, and Desmond Upshaw, with Lamar Cardenas to post a fourth-place finish with a time of 43.56.

The Bulldogs will host a tri-meet on Wednesday when they entertain Tri-State University and Olivet College, beginning at 2 p.m.
