Bulldog Track & Field impressive
at Capital
Men’s 4X400 team takes win with 3:38.99
BEXLEY,
Ohio—The Adrian College indoor
track & field teams came away with some impressive
performances at the Mike Hout Invitational, hosted
by Capital University on Friday night.
The
men’s team finished sixth in the 17-event
meet, while the Bulldog women ended in ninth place.
The
Bulldog 4 X 400-meter relay team of Justyn Bensett,
Jay Yockey, Chris Elseyand Jason Sweeney were
victorious with a time of 3:38.99. Elsey won the
400-meter dash with a 53.36, while Yockey took
the 1000-meter run at 2:43.8. Chris Calley ran
a blazing 23.01 in the 200-meter dash, finishing
second and tying the old CAP Center record, he
also ran a 6.77 in the 55-meter dash, finishing
third. Tim Storm ended in sixth place in the 5000-meters
at 16:54.3. Jeff Boyce threw 42-6 ¼ in
the shot put, good for fifth place.
Renee
Etter finished sixth in the 200-meter dash at
29.62 and eighth in the 55-meter dash at 8.19.
Chelsey Berlin ended the mile run in 5:54.4, good
for seventh place. Kelsey Miller earned sixth
place in the 800-meter run, running a 2:40.43.
The
Bulldog athletes next complete at the Ohio Northern
University on Friday, Feb. 16.
