Bulldogs
place fifth at Defiance Invite

DEFIANCE,
Ohio-- The Adrian College men’s
and women’s cross country teams competed
in the Defiance College Invitational and
produced strong showings.
Both squads placed fifth in their respective
races. The men’s team averaged a time
of 29:31.66, while the women’s average
time was 22:13.34. Tri-State won the men’s
race with a 27:54.8 average and Findlay
won the women’s event with an average
time of 20:04.04.
Bob Palmer led the men’s team, placing
ninth overall with a time of 28:12.4. Jay
Yockey was 20th at 29:10.8, while Neil Mossing
ran a time of 29:42.8 to place 28th. Bryan
Cicerchi (37th, 30:14.5), Tim Storm (38th,
30:17.8) and Brian Rider (39th, 30:22.9)
rounded out the Adrian men’s performances.
Chelsey Berlin led the way for the women’s
team, placing 15th overall with a time of
21:29.5. Kelsey Miller was 18th at 21:43.6,
while Jeanine Carpenter placed 25th at 22:31.8.
Laura Farnsel (28th, 22:38.2), Liesle Travis
(31st, 22:43.6) and Andrea Fickenscher (34th,
22:47.9) rounded out the women’s times.
The Bulldogs will compete in the first MIAA
Jamboree of the season Sept. 23 when they
travel to St. Mary’s College.
