The
2006 season will mark the first season
under new Adrian College men’s
and women’s tennis coach, Dave
Kurvink, who brings a wealth of tennis
experience to the AC campus.
Coach
Kurvink enters his first year as the
head tennis coach at Adrian College
after serving as the assistant men's
and women's tennis and squash coach
at St. Lawrence
University. At St. Lawrence, Kurvink
received Liberty League coaching staff
of the year honors and helped guide
the women's team to oneof their most
successful seasons in history. He
also sent a doubles team to the National
Small College Championships.
Kurvink
is a 2003 graduate of Moravian College
where he was a four-time all-conference
tennis player. He was named three
time team most valuable player and
was a team captain. He posted the
highest win total in school history
with a record of 50-17.
After
spending a year at Van Der Meer Tennis
Academy, Kurvink is now a USPTR teaching
professional and coached for over
ten years in a variety of international
training academies. He served as co-director
of tennis for Embrace Your Dreams
a program designed specifically for
underprivileged youth.
Kurvink
spends time as a Head Teaching Professional
at Newfield Tennis Club in Stamford,
CT where he runs programs for adult
teams as well as a junior program.
The
AC tennis coach holds a bachelor degree
in clinical and counseling psychology
and also holds a Masters of Education
in school counseling and development. |
