Tennis court construction begins at Adrian
College
Bulldog Tennis to utilize new 12-court
facility
ADRIAN,
Mich. -- The construction of a
new outdoor tennis facility is underway
at Adrian College.
The
College broke ground last week on a new
12-court outdoor tennis facility, located
northwest of the Performance Stadium and
south of the new track & field complex.
The project includes six batteries of two
USTA-approved courts each.
Slusarski
Excavating of Adrian is currently working
to level the ground and install stone and
drainage, starting with the two north courts.
They have stripped the soil and are working
in the clay sub-grade, with an emphasis
on maintaining the proper grade and tolerance
for the courts.
Following
the completion of the work by Slusarski,
Tecumseh Fence will install the facility’s
fencing and main poles for the net systems.
Then, Tennis Courts Unlimited of Watervliet
will finish the courts by coating the courts
and painting the playing surface.
According
to Slusarski, the excavating and asphalt
project is on schedule for the September
1 completion date. The entire project is
planned to be finished by the end of September.
