AC Women’s Tennis Receive Academic Honors

Team and Individual Athletes win numerous awards.

The Adrian College Women’s Tennis Team was awarded the 2007 ITA All-Academic Team award. The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).

"This is one of the most prestigious awards that a team can be honored with. It’s the women’s academic dedication and diligence that make them such admirable competitors and teammates," said coach David Kurvink. “The women’s tennis team was one of the 60 teams in the nation at the Division III level to receive this award!"

Amanda Arnold, Kristina Baker, Emily Brede, Leeann Brooks, Sandra Towler, and Karen Kruisenga each received individual scholar athlete awards. In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner and have a grade point average of at least a 3.50.

Men’s Tennis team members, Seth Knowles and Daniel Krsteski also received the individual scholar athlete awards for their GPAs.

The Women's team also received the MIAA Team GPA Award.
