Adrian falls 4-5 to Scots in MIAA play
Eshelman and Baker each score
two wins
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The Adrian College women’s
tennis team fell narrowly to MIAA-foe Alma College,
4-5, at the Merillat Center on Thursday afternoon.
Karen
Kruisenga and Lindsey Eshelman scored a win
at top doubles with a 9-8 (9-7) victory over
Lindsay Wagner and Kelly Schwarzkopt. Sandy
Towler and Kristina Baker also won at second
doubles, 8-2, over Emily Noss and Laura Kendrick.
Eshelman
won her top singles match, 6-1, 6-3, over Kendrick,
while Baker won 6-1, 6-2, over Wagner at fourth
singles.
Adrian,
0-5 on the year and now 0-1 in the MIAA, will
next travel to Calvin College on Saturday for
a 1 p.m. match with the Knights.
