Bulldog men’s tennis
outdone by strong Cougars
Several strong showings for Adrian in
loss
ADRIAN,
Mich.—The Adrian College
men’s tennis team opened the 2007
season with a loss at home to Spring Arbor
on Monday afternoon, 0-9.
The
Bulldogs had strong showings against the
powerful Cougars. Mike Douglas and Blake
Childs lost at first singles, 3-8, while
Steven Kerwin and Danny Krsteski fell 8-4
in the second slot. Ryan Schmidli and Orlo
Yeagley dropped the third doubles match
in a close contest, 5-8.
Kerwin
and Schmidli each had good singles showings.
Kerwin fell 6-3, 6-1 to Troy Heselschwerdt,
while Schmidli hung with Wade Clark before
losing by the same count.
Adrian
College head tennis coach David Kurvink
spoke about the match.
“We
came into the match knowing that Spring
Arbor was a strong team. This was a good
opening match that will prepare us for what
I expect to see on our spring break trip
to Hilton Head.”
The
Bulldogs will next play in Hilton Head,
South Carolina on Monday, February 26 against
Mercyhurst College.
